I am thrilled to have been invited to exhibit in the Holton Lodge Barn - Late Summer Exhibition. This is running from Friday 9th August to Sunday 1st September open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 11am to 5pm. If you haven’t already been, it is a stunning venue and well worth a visit. I am particularly excited as I will be showing my “…the noises that flamingos make…” painting from my “The Art of Noise” collection. This is a large painting, 100cm x 100cm which will look great hanging in this special location.

Two Stops Short of Dagenham on show in Essex!

I am taking my Two Stops Short of Dagenham collection to Navistitch in Manningtree. I will be there from 7th May to 8th June and am sharing the space with some other artists, so there will be a lot to see (and also some special offers)!

The gallery hours are Tuesday - Saturday 10am - 4pm or open by appointment outside of these times.

Charity Sale in aid of the Disasters Emergency Committee Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal

I am auctioning a painting via eBay in aid of the Disasters Emergency Committee Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal.

The painting on offer is Infinity 4 from my To Infinity and Beyond Collection. This is an original abstract acrylic painting on a 30cm x 30cm thin edge canvas. The painting is varnished, strung and ready to hang. It is offered unframed giving the buyer the choice of either getting it framed to their specification or hanging unframed.

I will donate 100% of the sale price to DEC.

Art on the Beach!

So pleased that my painting “Infinity 2” was chosen for the Art at the Beach poster for this year! Art at the Beach is an exhibition held at Felixstowe beach in Beach Street, Felixstowe on Saturday 3rd June. I will have a stand there and will have many paintings, prints and cards and other small works available for you to take home.

Three Degrees of Abstraction

I have a joint exhibition coming up in October with two other brilliant abstract artists Marian Lishman and Jo Clavier at The Craft House in Woodbridge - don’t miss the Meet the Artists evening on Wednesday 12th October 6-8pm! I will be showing a selection of original paintings from my “Two Stops Short of Dagenham”, “The Art of Noise”, “Relics of the Mind” and “To Infinity and Beyond” collections, plus prints, cards and hand-painted fridge magnets. The exhibition will run from Wednesday 12th October to Tuesday 18th October 2022 from 10am to 5pm and the gallery will be manned by at least one of us at all times! If you want to come and talk to me, I will be there from 1pm - 5pm every day.

 

Open Weekend Coming Up!

The date is set for my next and (sadly) only open weekend this year (although studio visits by appointment can be arranged separately). The dates are Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th July 11am - 4pm.

Open weekends are a chance for you to visit my studio and see both completed works and paintings in progress. I am currently working on a new collection that will be unveiled next year, so you will get a chance to see how that’s coming on and a sneak preview! I also keep a range of prints, cards, and fridge magnets. There is no obligation to buy anything, it’s always lovely to meet and chat with people who like abstract art. If you came last year, please come back again as you will be able to see my new studio space and it’s a chance for us to catch up!

There is no need to make an appointment during this opening time, we can remain socially distanced if necessary and we can wear masks if you are more comfortable with that, and spare masks, gloves and sanitiser will be available. I have had all my COVID 19 vaccinations. Please let me know if you would like me to take any additional precautions.

Of course it goes without saying, please do not come if you think you may have Covid 19; visits can always be arranged separately at a later date.

Like many artists, I am donating some paintings to raise funds for Ukraine. Open Weekend 20th/21st November 2021

The last open weekend went so well, I have decided to make this a regular event. Although this November one will be the last one before Christmas, so a good opportunity to get some Christmas shopping done (or I can rustle up a gift voucher if you are nervous about choosing a painting for someone else).

Open weekends are a chance for you to visit my studio… ahem… kitchen… and see paintings in progress, finished works, prints, cards, fridge magnets etc. There is no obligation to buy anything, it’s always lovely to meet and chat with people who like abstract art!

At the last weekend, I started selling cards and some figure studies by other artists; this proved very successful, so I’ve expanded that approach and will also be stocking cards and paintings by amazing artists: Lisa Rippon, Lois Cordelia, Loraine Wilson, Jo Clavier, Mandy Renton, Marian Lishman, and Mary Biddlecombe. Who knows, maybe this is the early stages of my own gallery business!

There is no need to make an appointment during this opening time, however in light of the continuing situation, threats of firebreaks and so on, we will remain socially distanced if necessary, we can wear masks if you are more comfortable with that, and spare masks, gloves and sanitiser will be available. I have had both my COVID 19 vaccinations, and I also do rapid lateral flow testing regularly.

Of course it goes without saying, please do not come if you think you may have Covid 19; visits can always be arranged separately at a later date.

George Farnham Gallery

I’m really thrilled to have some paintings accepted by the George Farnham Gallery in Saxmundham and I’m super honoured to be in the same room as other brilliant Suffolk artists. Suffolk Open Studios - Felixstowe - June 2021

I am super pleased to be participating in Suffolk Open Studios for the first time this year. Or in my case.. Suffolk Open Kitchen…. this is an opportunity to see how I work (I can do small demos), browse work that is currently available and ready to take home (including cards and smaller pieces) and have a chat about painting or discuss the colour scheme for that commission you’ve been dreaming about!

I will be opening by appointment limiting to two people maximum from the same household or group at a time. Single person slots will not be double booked. We will be able to remain socially distanced if necessary, I will wear a mask and gloves, and ask people to wear masks. Spare masks, gloves and sanitiser will be available. I have had both my COVID 19 vaccinations, and I also do rapid lateral flow testing regularly.

Hourly appointments are available from 10am - 5pm (last appointment at 4pm) for each Saturday and Sunday in June.

Please contact me or send me a message via social media (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook) to reserve a slot in advance. I will not be able to accommodate visitors without an appointment. If you book an appointment and later change your mind, or experience symptoms of Covid 19, please let me know so that I can free up the slot. Of course it goes without saying, please do not come if you think you may have Covid 19; visits can always be arranged separately at a later date.

Suffolk Artlink Winner!

I was really thrilled to win a prize awarded by Suffolk Artlink and donated by Cass Art for my Relics of the Mind 2 painting exhibited in the Suffolk Open Studios online exhibition. The prize was for Making a Difference; the panel loved the colours and felt emotionally moved by the painting. BIG thank to everyone involved! The exhibition is on until 7 May 2021.
